The question most aften asked to us by potential customers is "how much will it cost" and "how long will it take" And these are very difficult to answer.......
The problem is that most, if not all the parts for these machines are no longer made by the manufacturer. So, it is not uncommon to source from over 20 different vendors, from 5 countrys worldwide for one project!
The logistics of locating the parts often take as long as the project itself.
Also keep in mind that "concours restorations" are the most difficult of all, because quite simply, THE PARTS, FINISH, and END PRODUCT must be AS THE FACTORY assembled the bike.
Simply stated, a "concours restoration" can cost DOUBLE What a normal restoration would cost.
90% of our restorations are "race ready" restorations. In that the customer intends to ride, and race the machine. With vintage racing exploding worldwide, we find a great demand in this field.
Also, there a great many shops out there building awesome machines, and also many home based racers putting out world class work. Shop around when looking for a builder, and you will find the vintage bike industry to be full of helpful people who can help your dreams come true.
Also, it can be alot of fun to build the bike yourself...you will find the vintage community to be helpful in your quest for answers and support....!
Sometimes a project can take us 3-6 months to complete, sometimes longer, sometimes shorter.
